BEST GUIDE for Sierra 10.12.6 on Acer Aspire E1-571
EDIT: I found out it is against the Terms of Service of tonymacx86 to host their files, so where Unibeast/Multibeast is mentioned in the archive, it has been removed as I don't want my tonymac account getting removed 😁 you will need to download them from www.tonymacx86.com/downloads
On this blog, all the tutorials you see will be newbie-friendly. More complex things for first-timers such as patching DSDTs will not be required in this tutorial. This is one of the best tutorials for installing macOS Sierra on Acer Aspire E1-571, and this tutorial works for any type of this laptop. I am using the i3-3110M version, however this also works with the i5 version. The only think which will need changing is the WiFi card, which I replaced with the Atheros Ar9285 (around £5 on eBay), and you will require a functional Mac/Hackintosh to create the bootable USB. If you don't own a Mac/Hackintosh, see my next post on making a virtual machine. See below some photos of the finished result.

Step 1) Download the .zip file which contains all the required files. Inside the zip will be a copy of Unibeast. Make sure you have a formatted USB stick with a minimum capacity of 16 gigabytes ready and a copy of macOS Sierra from the App Store. Create the bootable USB and select 'Sierra' and 'Legacy Boot Mode' and wait for the USB to complete. This should take 20-30 minutes.
Step 2) Once this is done, boot from the USB and it should boot into Clover bootloader. Before you boot into macOS Setup, go into the config of Clover and change the ig-platform-id to 01660003. After you have done this, boot into the macOS Sierra setup and format your hard drive as Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Once you have done this, continue to install Sierra and run the setup.
POST-INSTALL
Step 3) Once Sierra has finished, boot into macOS through Clover (don't forgot to enter the ig-platform-id again) and set up your account. When you get to the desktop open the required files. You will need a USB keyboard/mouse for this as the keyboard drivers have not been installed. To install the trackpad, go into the folder entitled 'Trackpad' and follow the instructions in the file (you will also need to use Kext Utility here to install a trackpad kext). Once you have done this, the trackpad and keyboard should start working now.
Step 4) To get the bootloader installed and some more of your hardware working, open Multibeast (inside the files you downloaded earlier) and select 'Legacy Boot Mode'. This will install Clover bootloader, FakeSMC and a system definition, a file which changes the type of Mac that your computer is identified as. (which we will overwrite later). After this has installed, you will have the bootloader working.
Step 5) To get WiFi working, you will need to change the WiFi card. As I said at the top, I recommend the Atheros AR9285, which is not too expensive off eBay or Amazon. The kexts for this are in the files you downloaded, and you can install them through Kext Utility (in the package). You will need to reboot to get this kext working, and then you will have WiFi functionality.
Step 6) We are now going to get the sound working. This is harder than it sounds to perfect your sound completely. If you don't follow this clearly, then you will get a horrible 'white noise' sound coming from your microphone. In the package you downloaded, there is a file called VoodooHDA. Install that but do not reboot. There will be another kext called VoodooHDA inside the folder, which you will need to replace the original kext with. Navigate to System/Library/Extensions and copy and paste the modified kext into that directory. You can now reboot and your sound will be fully working. Please note your microphone will not be working after fixing the sound with the modified kext.
Step 7) Finally, we will make the bootloader work with the graphics in your Acer, and also avoid you having to change the ig-platform-id every time you would like to log on. There will be a file called config.plist in the archive you downloaded. You need to replace the configuration which was installed by Multibeast with the one in the archive to perfect the boot loader. To do this, navigate to your EFI partition (navigate to /EFI/CLOVER) and click the clover folder. You will see a file called config.plist. Change that file with the one in the archive you downloaded. Now reboot.
YOU NOW HAVE A FULLY FUNCTIONING HACKINTOSH!
Everything should be working, but if there are any bugs, please let me know in the comments below.

To get the microphone working again at your own risk,
ReplyDeleteGo to Apple < System Preferences < VoodooHDA < Input Gain
Turn up Input Gain (but not all the way otherwise white noise)
I don't recommend this but do it if required by you.

I'll get right to the point. How do I permanently activate my graphics card? I have an Acer E1-571 with an Intel HD Graphics 3000. I can use it perfectly in Niresh's Hackintosh Yosemite, but in the Sierra version of Niresh too, my card does not work ... I followed his tutorial, really very good , since my only problem is this ... with the graphics card. Can you help me?
ReplyDeleteThat is the problem: https://imgur.com/HrrVVs0
